| Obverse description | Central field displays the rampant lion of the Laufenburg civic coat of arms, set within a hexafoil frame. An inner beaded ring encircles the hexafoil, separating the central device from the surrounding legend. The legend, rendered in uncial Latin characters, runs clockwise and incorporates ornamental rose-form stops in place of conventional dots, reflecting the refined decorative sensibility of early sixteenth-century Swiss municipal coinage. |
