Obverse description Central field features a fleur-de-lis surmounting a cross pattee, the whole enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross divides the field into four quarters, each containing a fleur-de-lis or decorative trefoil motif characteristic of the florette type. A crown appears above the central design element. The circular Latin legend reads HENRICVS FRANCORV REX, proclaiming Henry V's claim to the French throne, running between the inner and outer beaded borders of this hammered silver piece.
