Obverse description Central device features a quartered shield of Bavaria-Palatinate, displayed in a tilted or leaning posture beneath a crowned tournament helmet adorned with a crest of peacock feathers. The crest bisects both the circumferential legend and the inner beaded border. The legend is contained between two concentric pearled circles, with the inner girdle decorated in a reticulated or net-like pattern. The overall composition is characteristic of late medieval Germanic heraldic coinage.
Obverse script Latin (uncial)

Reverse description A Luxemburgish escutcheon bearing a lion rampant to the sinister, set on a field of five pieces, is superimposed upon a long pattée cross that divides the circumferential legend into four segments. The entire central device is enclosed within an epicycloid frame of double rib adorned with fleurs-de-lis at the cusps. The legend runs between two concentric pearled circles, consistent with the standard monetary style of medieval Luxembourg.
