Reverse description A bold central long cross extends to the inner beaded circle, dividing the reverse field into four quarters; the first and fourth quarters each contain an annulet, while the second and third quarters each bear three pellets (bezants) arranged in a triangular pattern. A circular legend occupies the outer annular field between two beaded circles, identifying the city of Barcelona as the place of issue. The overall design follows the standard Catalan cross-type groat format established in the late 13th century.
