Obverse description Crowned bust of King James II facing left, depicted in three-quarter length with long flowing hair and wearing ornate armour decorated with pellets and scroll motifs. The king wears a prominent fleur-de-lis crown. The effigy is enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a beaded border. The Latin royal legend runs around the periphery of the coin.
