Reverse description A quartered shield of Austria-Burgundy is centrally positioned over a bold long cross pattee whose arms extend to the legend circle, dividing the circumferential inscription into four segments. The shield displays the Austrian fess and the Burgundian arms, reflecting the dynastic union under Philip the Handsome. The cross pattee, with its characteristic flared terminals, dominates the field and intersects the legend in the manner typical of Burgundian Netherlands billon coinage of the late 15th century. The overall composition is well-centred despite the irregular flan, with the devotional legend visible in the four quarters between the cross arms.
