| Obverse description | Imperial orb displayed within a cusped quatrefoil frame, the orb surmounted by a cross and divided by a horizontal bar, all set against a plain field. The quatrefoil is further enclosed within a pointed star-form border. A beaded inner circle separates the central device from the surrounding legend in Gothic uncial characters reading MONETA.NOVA.BASILIENS, the whole bordered by a fine cable or rope edge. |
