| Obverse description | Full-length frontal effigy of Emperor Frederick III standing, robed in imperial regalia and wearing a jewelled crown. The emperor holds a lily sceptre in his right hand, with a small star placed between his feet at the base of the design. The figure is rendered in the Gothic hammered style characteristic of late 15th-century Rhenish goldgulden, with drapery rendered in low relief. A beaded inner border frames the central type, with the circular legend running between the inner and outer borders in uncial Gothic lettering. |
