Obverse description Nimbate Christ Pantokrator enthroned in frontal view, right hand raised in a gesture of benediction and left hand holding the Gospels, depicted in the hieratic Byzantine style. The nimbus is cruciform, and the figure is robed in imperial garments appropriate to divine majesty. A circular Greek legend surrounds the central effigy within the coin's field.
