Obverse description Highly stylised and abstracted rendering of the head of Apollo facing right, executed in the characteristic Celtic curvilinear tradition derived from Macedonian prototype coinage. The facial features are dissolved into a dynamic arrangement of comma-shaped lentoid pellets representing the laureate wreath, sweeping curved lines suggesting the hair and cloak, and bold spiral motifs in the field evoking crescents. The design fills the flan with confident, flowing relief work, with no legend or inscription present.
