Obverse description A boldly rendered wheat or barley ear with a prominent central stalk occupies the full height of the flan, its grain heads finely modelled in high relief. A decorative crescent or scroll device appears at the base of the stalk, serving as a stylised foliate terminal. The abbreviated mint name legend CA to the left and MV to the right of the central motif is rendered in Roman capitals within the field, referencing the mint of Camulodunum. The design reflects the Catuvellaunian artistic tradition of adapting classical motifs into a distinctively Celtic visual vocabulary.
