Obverse description Highly stylised and devolved head of Apollo facing right, reduced to an abstract arrangement of crescents, pellets, and a wreath in which the inner tip of each leaf points downward. A spike-with-curve element, commonly identified as a hairbar, crosses the wreath diagonally. The face is rendered as a bulbous mass with a slight protrusion indicating the chin, and formalised hair curls descend at the rear. The overall treatment reflects the Late Iron Age Celtic tendency toward geometric abstraction of classical Hellenistic prototypes.
