Reverse description A mounted warrior advancing to the right, depicted in the schematic Celtic artistic tradition, holding a spear diagonally across the body. A five-pointed star occupies the upper field above the horse, a distinctive reverse type associated with Verica's coinage. The abbreviated Latin legend VIR appears in the lower exergual area beneath the horse. A ring device is positioned behind the horse, below the tail, and a pellet border encircles the entire design. The execution is notably cruder than official Verican staters, consistent with the coin's attribution as a contemporary counterfeit struck from imitative dies on a base-metal flan with a superficial gold plating.
