| Obverse description | Central rectangular tablet containing the Latin legend COM.F, rendered in a debased, roughly executed style characteristic of a contemporary counterfeit. A pellet-in-ring ornament appears both above and below the tablet, serving as decorative field elements. The overall design is derived from the official Verica coinage of the Atrebates, though the die work is notably cruder and less precise than on genuine issues. The flan is irregular, and the gold plating over the bronze core is visible at worn areas around the tablet. |
