Obverse description Highly stylised and degenerate rendering of a laureate head derived from the Macedonian gold stater prototype, executed in a coarse Celtic idiom characteristic of north-east coastal British workshop production. The facial features are reduced to a series of abstracted pellets, curved lines, and lentoid relief elements distributed across the flan, with no legible portrait remaining. The surface exhibits the irregular die-cutting and uneven strike typical of a contemporary counterfeit produced from a base bronze core subsequently plated with gold. No legend or inscription is present in the field.

Reverse description Stylised disjointed horse motif in the Celtic tradition, rendered in highly abstracted form with curvilinear body elements and splayed limbs visible in the upper register of the flan. A cluster of pellets arranged in a triangular or pyramidal grouping occupies the lower field, consistent with the three-line type diagnostic of north-east coast British staters. The reverse border shows traces of a beaded or pellet outer rim, and the overall die work reflects the crude but purposeful craftsmanship of a contemporary counterfeit imitating locally circulating coinage of the period.
