Obverse description Degraded corn ear motif with a central stalk rendered in a schematic, linear style characteristic of a contemporary counterfeit. The design, heavily worn and obscured by patination, retains vestiges of the flanking inscription divided either side of the stalk. The execution is notably cruder than the prototype, with simplified rendering of the grain ears and irregular flan fabric consistent with unofficial production. The legend CA-MV appears divided to left and right of the central motif.
