| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned quartered coat of arms of Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne, comprising the arms of La Tour and Bouillon, flanked on either side by the initial letter H. The shield is surmounted by a ducal crown of elaborate form. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire device, reading HENRI D LA TOVR D DE BVLL PS DE SED, identifying the issuer as Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne, Prince of Sedan and Duke of Bouillon. The heraldic composition is rendered in a bold, late Renaissance engraving style typical of French feudal coinage of the period. |
