| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Attic helmet adorned with a row of pellets along the brow and elaborate decorative elements on the bowl. The hair flows in curling locks beneath the helmet rim, rendered in fine relief characteristic of late Classical Athenian coinage. The facial features are rendered in the refined style of the mid-4th century BC, with a pronounced profile. The irregular flan is typical of hammered gold coinage of this period. |
