Obverse description A large, stylized fleur-de-lis occupies the central field, rendered in the Gothic manner with finely crosshatched petals and foliate lateral scrolls. The design closely follows the Florentine florin tradition, with the lily rising from a beaded base. A circular Latin legend in Gothic characters surrounds the central device, separated from the inner field by a beaded inner circle. The overall style is characteristic of mid-14th century Dauphiné feudal coinage.
