Obverse description Quartered shield occupying the central field, divided per pale and per fess: the dexter half bearing the Jerusalem cross (a large cross potent with four crosslets) and the sinister half bearing three fleurs-de-lis arranged 2-1, representing the arms of Anjou. The shield is enclosed within a plain inner circle, with the circumscribed legend running in the outer border. The overall design is characteristic of Angevin feudal coinage of the late 14th century.
