| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the arms of Bourbon — three fleurs-de-lis arranged 2-1 on a plain field, traversed by a diagonal bend — surmounted by a royal crown with fleurs-de-lis finials. The armorial shield occupies the majority of the coin's field and is rendered in high relief typical of hammered gold coinage of the late sixteenth century. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, separated from the central device by a plain inner border. |

| Reverse description | A ornate cross fleury occupies the central field, its four arms terminating in stylized floral finials and adorned with trefoil and lozenge embellishments at the terminals and centre, characteristic of the écu au soleil type adapted for feudal coinage. The cross is rendered in bold relief against a plain field. The date 1575 appears integrated within the circular Latin legend, which is separated from the central device by a beaded inner border running continuously around the periphery. |
