Obverse description Central quartered shield of arms of Navarre, the quarters bearing the characteristic chains of Navarre and fleurs-de-lis, flanked on either side by the crowned initials I (for Ioannes/John) and K (for Katharina/Catherine), each surmounted by a small crown. The entire device is encircled by a beaded inner border, with the royal legend running continuously around the periphery in Gothic uncial characters.
