Obverse description King Kumaragupta I depicted in full regal attire, mounted on a caparisoned horse moving to the right, his right hand raised and brandishing a whip. The royal equestrian effigy is rendered in the characteristic Gupta artistic style, with ornate jewellery and flowing garments visible. A Brahmi legend encircles the central device in the field, identifying the ruler and proclaiming his imperial epithets.
