Obverse description Draped and armored bust of King Christian IV facing right, wearing a ruffled collar and royal crown above his head, the effigy rendered in high relief in the Renaissance style. The bust is enclosed within a beaded inner circle and a rope-like inner border. The Latin legend encircles the periphery, reading CHRISTIAN IIII D G DANI, identifying the monarch by name and title. The outer border is defined by a raised beaded rim.

Reverse description Two allegorical female figures standing as supporters flank a central shield bearing the Danish royal arms with three crowned lions passant, above which appears the royal C4 monogram surmounted by a crown. Each figure holds a palm branch and jointly raises a crown above the shield. The Latin motto FIRMAT PIETAS REGNA encircles the design within a beaded border, proclaiming that piety strengthens kingdoms.
