| Obverse description | Bare male head facing right, rendered in archaic Etruscan style with finely incised wavy hair gathered in loose locks. The facial features are boldly modelled with a pronounced eye rendered in profile, a straight nose, and slightly parted lips. The numeral X, denoting the value of 10 asses, appears in the right field before the face. The overall style reflects the refined goldsmithing tradition of the Populonian mint during the late third century BC. |

| Reverse description | Completely plain and uninscribed, presenting a smooth though slightly irregular convex gold surface with no design elements, legends, or symbols. This uniface striking is characteristic of the small-denomination gold coinage produced at Populonia, where the entire artistic programme was confined to the obverse die alone. The flan shows the natural irregularities typical of hand-cut hammered gold blanks of the period. |
