Obverse description Central device depicting the gateway of Genoa (castello) set within a polylobe frame, each interior cusp adorned with a small crosslet. The entire composition is enclosed by a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend, rendered in uncial Latin characters, identifies the issuing doge and his ordinal number, separated by decorative stops and a floral terminal.

Reverse description A cross pattée is displayed at center within a polylobe frame, each interior cusp decorated with a small crosslet, mirroring the obverse design. A beaded circle encloses the polylobe. The surrounding uncial Latin legend invokes the Genoese monetary tradition of citing Conrad, King of the Romans, as nominal suzerain; the legend terminates with the initial letter of the responsible mint official.
