Obverse description High-relief uniformed bust of Archduke Eugen facing left, with a distinctive upturned moustache, wearing a military tunic with collar insignia. A laurel branch appears in the right field, and the maker's mark 'M. & W. ST.' is incused at the lower rim. The legend 'ERZHERZOG EUGEN' arcs around the upper portion of the beaded border.

Reverse description A large crowned double-headed eagle in high relief dominates the field, bearing a quartered coat of arms on its breast surrounded by an order chain, and holding a sword and orb in its talons. The dates 1914 and 1915 appear in the lower field flanking the eagle's tail feathers. The names of allied and enemy nations are arranged around the border within a beaded inner circle, with OESTERREICH-UNGARN, DEUTSCHLAND, and TÜRKEI at the top identifying the Central Powers' allies, and FRANKREICH, ENGLAND, RUSSLAND, SERBIEN, BELGIEN, MONTENEGRO, ITALIEN, and JAPAN arranged around the lower border identifying opposing nations.
