Obverse description Crude hammered field bearing a two-line Arabic legend reading 'Mawlana / al-A'zam', the honorific titles of the Nizari Ismaili Imam-ruler 'Ala al-Din Muhammad III. The inscription is rendered in a compressed, informal Kufic-influenced script typical of Alamut coinage, occupying the majority of the flan. The coin's irregular planchet and small module reflect the fractional denomination and the limited minting infrastructure of the mountain fortress state.
Obverse script Arabic
Obverse lettering مولانا / الاعظم
