Reverse description Entirely epigraphic reverse featuring three lines of Kufic-style Arabic script across the irregular flan. The upper two lines carry the continuation of the Islamic profession of faith, 'Muhammad is the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace' (محمد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم), while the third line bears the name of the Taifa ruler, Ahmad Yumn al-Dawla (أحمد يمن الدولة). The script is boldly struck though partially weakened at the flan edges, characteristic of hammered fractional dirhams of the 11th-century Iberian Taifa kingdoms. No mint name or date appears on this type.
