| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Diocletian facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial style with a pronounced spiky radiate crown. The emperor is depicted bearded, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the cuirass visible beneath. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP C C VAL DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG, identifying him as Imperator Caesar Gaius Valerius Diocletianus Pius Felix Augustus.
