Obverse description Draped bust of Carlo Emanuele I facing right, depicted with short curly hair and a ruffled collar, rendered in the late Renaissance portrait style typical of Savoyard coinage. The effigy shows the duke in armour with decorative pauldron visible at the shoulder. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan, interrupted by pellet stops.

Reverse description Quartered shield of Savoy bearing the characteristic plain cross on a divided field, surmounted by a ducal crown with foliate finials. The arms are rendered in bold relief within an irregularly shaped flan, consistent with hammered coinage of the period. A partial circular Latin legend runs around the periphery, with the abbreviated territorial titles of the duke divided by pellet stops.
