Reverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of Savoy — a plain cross on a shield — enclosed within a beaded inner circle, flanked by three small annulets or rings evenly distributed around the shield within the inner border. A floral or rosette ornament appears to the left of the shield in the field. The surrounding peripheral legend reads SABAVDIE ET in uncial Latin lettering, with a small cross serving as a stop at the top of the coin. The heraldic shield is rendered in the characteristic flat, stylised manner of hammered late medieval Savoyard billon or silver coinage.
