Obverse description Right-facing bust of Emperor Valentinian I rendered in the late Roman imperial style, adorned with a pearl diadem whose ties fall behind the neck. The emperor wears a cuirass overlaid with a paludamentum (military cloak) draped across the left shoulder, conveying martial authority. The facial features are finely modeled, with a strong profile, prominent nose, and a calm, authoritative expression characteristic of Valentinianic portraiture. The encircling Latin legend reads D N VALENTINIANVS P F AVG, distributed around the bust from lower left to upper right. A beaded border frames the entire obverse field.
