Reverse description Victory advancing right, carrying a trophy over her left shoulder while dragging a captive with her right hand; the captive leans backward in submission, a composition conveying Roman military dominance. The reverse legend SALVS REIPVBLICAE, meaning 'The Salvation of the Republic,' encircles the main type. The exergue bears the mint mark of the Nicomedia mint. The figure of Victory is rendered in a brisk, stylized manner consistent with mass-produced late Roman AE coinage of the Theodosian era.
