Obverse description Right-facing bust of Emperor Theodosius I, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed, rendered in the late Roman imperial style characteristic of the Theodosian period. The emperor's effigy displays a prominent pearl diadem with visible beading along the upper edge of the portrait. The obverse legend encircles the bust in Latin capitals. The portrait, though struck on a small flan, retains the stylized authority typical of late fourth-century bronze coinage.
