Obverse description Right-facing bust of Emperor Theodosius I, depicted pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed, rendered in the late Roman imperial style characteristic of the Theodosian period. The effigy displays a prominent pearl diadem across the brow, with military paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the cuirass visible beneath.
