Obverse description Laureate head of Maximinus II (Daia) facing right, with short hair rendered in fine parallel striations beneath the laurel wreath. The bust is bare or lightly draped at the truncation, depicted in a bold, high-relief style characteristic of the Tetrarchic period. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP C GAL VAL MAXIMINVS P F AVG, distributed around the periphery with a beaded border. The portraiture exhibits the blocky, powerful facial features typical of Diocletianic-era imperial coinage, with a pronounced jaw and strong brow.
