| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Julian II (as Caesar) facing right, draped and cuirassed, with finely rendered hair swept back in wavy locks. The effigy displays youthful features consistent with Julian's portraiture during his tenure as Caesar under Constantius II. A paludamentum is visible at the shoulder, fastened with a brooch. The encircling legend is rendered in Latin capital letters within the outer border of the flan. |
