Obverse description Diademed, draped bust of Empress Aelia Eudoxia facing right, wearing a pearl diadem and necklace, her elaborately coiffed hair arranged in curled locks falling to the shoulder. Pearl drop earrings are visible beneath the diadem. The bust is rendered in the refined late antique imperial style characteristic of Theodosian-era coinage. The encircling Latin legend reads AEL EVDOXIA AVG, identifying the empress as Augusta.
