Reverse description Two helmeted, draped, and cuirassed soldiers stand facing one another in three-quarter view, each holding an inverted spear in the outer hand while resting the inner hand upon a grounded shield. Between the two figures stands a single legionary standard, flanked by dot pellets on either side. The composition is a reduced single-standard variant of the GLORIA EXERCITVS type, reflecting the post-337 reform of the design. The reverse legend GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS, meaning 'Glory of the Army,' is divided across the field in two segments. The mint mark SMAN, with officina letter, appears in the exergue.
