A single star appears above the gate in the upper field, serving as a celestial symbol of imperial authority. The reverse legend PROVIDEN-TIAE CAESS is disposed on either side of the gate. The mintmark, incorporating a wreath symbol, appears in the exergue to identify the Rome mint and its respective officina.
