Obverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint Philip the Apostle standing in the field, clad in flowing robes rendered in fine Gothic drapery, holding a long patriarchal cross staff in his left hand and a book or palm frond in his right. A nimbus or halo surrounds the saint's bearded head, and small decorative elements appear in the field to either side of the figure. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the devotional Latin legend disposed around the periphery in Gothic uncial characters between the beaded border and the outer rim of the coin.
