Reverse description Full-length frontal effigy of Saint László (Ladislaus), patron saint of Hungary, depicted standing in royal vestments and crown, holding a long-handled battle-axe (halberd) in his right hand and an orb in his left. A mint mark appears to the right of the figure in the field. The saint is shown with a nimbus, emphasizing his sanctified status. The surrounding legend in Gothic uncial script reads · SAnTVS · LA DISLAVS R ·, identifying the figure as Saint László, King. The composition closely follows the Florentine florin prototype adapted to Hungarian royal iconography.
