Reverse description Full-length frontal figure of St. John the Baptist standing, depicted nimbed and robed in a long garment, holding a long staff or reed cross in his left hand and raising his right hand in a gesture of blessing. The figure is rendered in a flat, stylized Gothic manner characteristic of mid-14th-century Hungarian gold coinage. A beaded inner border frames the central image, with a circular Latin legend in uncial script running between the border and the outer rim. The design closely follows the Florentine florin reverse type, reflecting the international monetary conventions of the period.
