Obverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint John the Baptist standing in the field, draped in a long robe and holding a lamb in his left arm, with a nimbus visible above his head. A small heraldic device appears to the left of the figure. The surrounding legend reads S IOHANNES B in Gothic Latin script, separated by pellets. The overall style is characteristic of late medieval Aragonese hammered gold coinage, with bold but somewhat crude relief typical of the period.
