Obverse description Central field occupied by a quartered royal shield displaying the arms of Hungary: alternating Árpád stripes and the patriarchal double cross on a mount, with additional heraldic charges in the lower quarters. The shield is rendered in the late medieval heraldic style typical of Transylvanian hammered gold coinage. A circular beaded border frames the design, with the regnal legend distributed around the periphery, interrupted by pellet stops. The date appears within the legend at the top of the coin.
