Obverse description Facing enthroned figure of Saint Peter seated beneath an elaborate Gothic architectural canopy with flanking pinnacles and tracery. The saint is depicted in episcopal vestments, holding a key in his left hand and raising his right hand in benediction, with a nimbus behind his head. The design closely follows the Florentine florin tradition adapted to the Mosan Gothic style. The peripheral legend in uncial characters runs along the coin's edge within a beaded border.
