| Obverse description | Facing enthroned figure of Saint Peter seated beneath an elaborate Gothic architectural canopy with flanking pinnacles and tracery. The saint is depicted in episcopal vestments, holding a key in his left hand and raising his right hand in benediction, with a nimbus behind his head. The design closely follows the Florentine florin tradition adapted to the Mosan Gothic style. The peripheral legend in uncial characters runs along the coin's edge within a beaded border. |

| Reverse description | Two heraldic shields displayed side by side within a quatrefoil polylobe frame, the lobes separated by trefoils in the intervening angles. The dexter shield bears the arms of the Prince-Bishopric of Liege and the sinister shield displays the personal arms of Bishop Arnold of Hornes. The composition is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with the episcopal legend in uncial characters running continuously around the outer field. |
