Obverse description Central crowned shield of France semé of fleurs-de-lis, surmounted by a trefoil crown with decorative finials. The shield displays three fleurs-de-lis arranged in the traditional French royal heraldic disposition. The design is contained within a double beaded inner circle, with the royal legend running in the surrounding field. The overall style is characteristic of late medieval French hammered coinage produced under Burgundian administration.
