Obverse description Half-length effigy of Archduke Ferdinand I facing right, depicted in full armor and holding a scepter in his right hand and a sword in his left. The figure is rendered in high relief with detailed engraving of the armored breastplate and pauldrons. The encircling Latin legend reads FERDI.D:G.RO.VNG.BOE.DAL.CRO.ZC.REX, identifying Ferdinand by the grace of God as King of the Romans, Hungary, Bohemia, Dalmatia, and Croatia.
