Reverse description The central field displays the coat of arms of the canton of Neuchâtel flanked by the arms of Valangin to the right and of the city of Neuchâtel to the left, all overlapping in high relief. A laurel branch to the left and an oak branch to the right frame the composition, tied below by a ribbon, while a radiant Swiss cross surmounts the design at the top. The date 1898 appears in the lower exergue beneath the shields.
